  1. Creating Meetings is Costly – Just the act of creating and configuring a meeting for a course is laborious, especially if the parameters or settings for the meeting need to be very specific. At scale, with hundreds or even thousands of courses, it drains resources to get the meetings set up.

  2. Maintaining Meetings is Even More Costly – Courses change, plain and simple. Prior to a term or years starting, or even after they start, courses can go through a significant number of changes such as new schedules, new instructors, new students. Often, these changes need to be reflected in the Zoom meeting and as soon as possible. Not updating meetings can result in students missing class, instructors unable to teach, bad data on attendance or in-meeting activities; all of which create a bad learning experience.

I Need to Synchronize My Meetings Data With Other Systems – In the modern, multi-system educational environment, not only is it important to have accurate data, but that data needs to be in sync across many systems. For online learning, just creating a Zoom meeting is rarely enough. That meeting and its configuration data must be logged and updated in other systems which affect end users and administrators. Unfortunately, workers in charge of creating these meetings are often forced into double (or more) data entry to maintain parity.

Automated Meeting Maintenance — Just like the creation of the meeting, Lingk’s connectors can monitor for changes to courses like their schedule and/or instructors, and then update the meeting settings (or even delete the meeting, when necessary) automatically. In some sophisticated cases, changes that affect a meeting might occur across many different systems. Lingk’s platform allows for the monitoring of changes across all these systems.

  3. Automated Meeting Synchronization – Not only can Lingk gather data from multiple systems to compose a Zoom meeting, but it can also feed data about that Zoom meeting back into those systems. An integration challenge that Lingk solved for some clients is the automated creation and maintenance of Zoom meetings based on data from their SIS, which needed to be synchronized with their CRM and their LMS. In one example, Lingk’s packaged integration created Zoom meetings based on course parameters in Anthology (SIS), fed that meeting data into their CRM (Salesforce EDA), and appended the Zoom meeting as an external tool to the corresponding course in Canvas (LMS). This not only automated the creation of the meetings, but it ensured that the parameters of the meeting remained in sync across all those systems.
